Examples of the Matrix's Influence in the six areas of Healthful Living
Much of the default life paradigm propagated by the mainstream media is fraught with myths and deceptions that intend to produce docile consumers while limiting people’s perspective of what is truly possible for them. Thus, we discover that embracing healthful living is about both identifying/removing inhibitions to growth and freedom, and choosing to “opt in” to a healthful path forward.
As these “messages” can be so insidious, here are some examples of the matrix in the six areas of our life – influencing our buying habits, view of ourselves, personal power, and more. Many of the messages apply to more than one are, so overlap is common.
Health of Body
- Obesity is at an all-time high.
- Pharmaceutical drugs are overused to support “maintenance” of a disease state vs. healing.
- Processed foods (and high profits) have become the norm is our overworked society.
- Alternative medicine (proven approaches) is discredited in the mainstream media like a modern-day witch hunt.
Health of Mind
- Antidepressants are commonplace.
- Sleeping medications are now need/used frequently with adolescents to counteract the side effects of the ADHD drugs
- Body image has been so manipulated by the media that more women (young girls, college, and middle aged) have eating disorders than ever before; ceaselessly striving to attain unrealistic (and unhealthful) images of body and beauty.
Health of Energy/Spirit
- Government blurs religious issues with national policy – ignoring the boundary of church and state.
- Science aims to discredit what “it” can’t measure but what people have intuitively known for ages.
Health of Community
- The competitive adage of “Beating the Joneses” fosters competition for wealth instead of sharing of resources.
- The divide and conquer strategy of pitting one “group” against another further destroys the power of the whole.
Health of Economy
- Most people are in debt; succumbing to the manipulations of banks and retailers.
- We feel we need to buy more in order to meet the images created by advertisers.
- Our economy influences our international policy.
Health of Earth
- Pollution/toxins are poisoning the earth.
- Global warming has been scientifically validated; however our own government will not acknowledge nor take any action on it.
- We are sacrificing the environment for short term economics.
